Xbox’s Barbie Campaign Includes a Branded Console, Doll Clothes, and Dream House

The beauty of the Xbox console’s rectangular simplicity is that it lends itself nicely to branding opportunities. Flat surfaces, you know?

Microsoft incorporated the Xbox Series S console into a special edition Barbie collaboration: The Xbox Barbie DreamhHuse. After all, if your house doesn’t have a good gaming console, is it really a dream house?

The pink console, complete with the “Barbie” logo on the front, fits into the bottom floor of the DreamHouse floor plan. It also comes with different controller faceplates to complete the set.

On the physical end, this incorporates a beloved and timeless toy with a modern toy kids want. That blend of timeless and contemporary extends to digital tie-ins, too, with Xbox games like “Forza Horizon 5” bringing in special Barbie content, like pink cars.

Finally, there’s a line of Barbie dolls that come with teeny tiny Xbox apparel, like T-shirts, hoodies and more.

The accessory-heavy life of Barbie and Ken lends itself pretty nicely to the promo space. And now to tie in with Greta Gerwig’s film adaptation, there’s renewed interest in Barbie and all of her activities and accessories.

This is especially fun, because it blends both full-size products for actual humans, as well as miniature things for dolls. It might make the decoration side a little more difficult to print on tiny T-shirts, but it’s worth it to complete a well-rounded promotional campaign.
